Condition: Cover missing. Numerous flakes to foot and rim as expected. Note: The line through the glaze on the based is a scratch/scuff mark and not a crack.

Delft marks were not standardized and as such can be difficult to decipher. The Peacock Factory was established in 1651 by Claes Jansz Messchert and the mark on this vase bears a strong resemblance to his mark. See Justice, Jean. Dictionary of Marks and Monograms of Delft Pottery. H. Jenkins, Limited, 1930, p. 56, reproduced here.
