Chinese export pseudo tobacco leaf plate, with a scalloped edge, decorated in overglaze enamels with a single rosette (stylized cross-section of a pomegranate), leaves, flowers and a single ring.
This elegant plate, with its airy design and harmonious palette, is one of the more restrained tobacco leaf patterns. The scattered motifs appear as though a breeze just blew them onto the plate. The turquoise band and four orange cartouche on the border lend a Japanese flavor.
