The style and decoration on these plates is 18th century, but the porcelain is 19th, or perhaps even 20th century, indicating they were made as replacements. Interestingly, the arms and the border panels are correct, but the central scene with the fancy birds is reversed. Howard illustrates numerous services with identical scenes of two fancy birds on a rocky outcrop and flowering peonies, but all are reverse images of this pair.
