This elegant, multipurpose table was used by the lady of the house in the early 19th century. Needlework occupied a large part of her time and this table was originally fitted with a bag to hold the sewing. In addition to reading, writing and games like chess and back gammon, women also engaged in watercolor. This table has a drawer fitted with numerous compartments for brushes and the various colors.
