Evgeny (Eugene) Lanceray (1848-1886) Russian, bronze figure, "Bearded Peasant Carrying a Barrel", signed on the base in Cyrillic "E. Lancere" and with the Cyrillic foundry mark "N. Shtange".

This expressive little bronze figure is mounted to a polished slate base. It stands on its own, or can be used for dried flowers, paper clips or even as a match strike.

Eugene Alexandrovitch Lanceray was noted for his evocative depictions of horses, Cossacks and country people.
