Pair of folk Art habillé pictures, each depicting a figure in local costume, rendered in fabric and watercolor.
These so-called "habillé", or "dressed" pictures were a folk art tradition in France. Bits of fabric were glued to paper, while the faces and background were painted in gouache or, in this case, watercolor.

There are condition issues with each of these, so please examine the photos carefully. The poor woman with the orange dress and cane has damage near her head, as does the man in the black robes and hat.
